Pibe's Brauerei, GUNDRY'S IPA

One night I was invited to an annual barnyard party in Boltersen, Germany. There I met two beer enthusiasts and the proud owners of a micro brewery. Soon after, a beer was brewing in my name and I was given total control of the label design. So without too much though, I stuck my face and family name on it!
Cherry wood. A timber I had longed to carve and before had only worked with MDF and Plywood. At the time I had a rugged travelers beard and I would scratch it a lot when I was deep in thought. It didn't take long before I began envisioning myself with a thick, leafy, hoppy beard who was sought after by brewers from all over the globe. This was followed by a beautifully yet slightly insane selfie and sketch. The pieces of cherry wood were kindly gifted to me from Gert, a master carpenter and the father of the family who accommodated me in the village of Boltersen. Since their home was built in the forest, the whole experience was therapeutic and a perfect environment for somebody creative like myself. There in his workshop I spent a week designing and carving two logos for the Boltersen brewers and a potential client in Hamburg.
I communicated with the owners of Pibe's Brauerei through Facebook to discuss font, layout and legal requirements. Shortly after, I gave them an awesome label design that we are all extremely happy with. Unfortunately this beer is only sold in Getränkefeinkost Lüneburg, but maybe someday it will reach the shores of New Zealand and then, the rest of the world!
